Clinical Experiences in New York's Capital Region
Albany Medical College is one of the oldest medical schools in the nation. Albany Medical College has clinical experience through teaching affiliations with nearby hospitals and facilities. The tertiary medical center hospital experiences are expanded with programs in neighboring primary and secondary care hospitals.
Albany Medical Center and the Albany Med Health System
Albany Med is northeastern New York's only academic medical center. It incorporates the 766-bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany Med is affiliated with Columbia Memorial Health, Saratoga Hospital and Glens Falls Hospital.

The Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital
The region's only children's hospital is located at Albany Medical Center and includes the region's only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the region's highest level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the region's only child cancer and blood disorders center, and general pediatric services.
The Massry Family Children's Emergency Center
The Massry Family Children's Emergency Center is the only dedicated pediatric emergency department in northeastern New York and western New England.
The Patient Pavilion
The six-story, 325,000 square-foot Patient Pavilion is equipped with 20 operating rooms, 83 beds, 26 recovery room stations and a neonatal intensive care unit.
Samuel S. Stratton Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The Samuel S. Stratton Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, erected in 1951, is located across the street from Albany Medical Center Hospital and Albany Medical College. This modern hospital of 401 beds is a major teaching hospital
Capital District Psychiatric Center
Albany Medical College has cooperative agreements with the Capital District Psychiatric Center (CDPC), a facility of the New York State Office of Mental Health, located adjacent to the College.
St. Peter's Hospital
Third-year clerkships and senior electives in medicine, surgery, pediatrics and obstetrics and gynecology are available at St. Peter's Hospital, located one and one-half miles west of Albany Medical College.
Some students are assigned third- and/or fourth-year clerkships in medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, neurology and psychiatry at Ellis Hospital, located in the neighboring community of Schenectady, New York. This community hospital with 352 beds is linked closely with both Albany Medical College and Albany Medical Center Hospital through affiliated graduate training programs.

Ambulatory Care Sites
Departments of the Medical College utilize a network of community physicians in Albany, Schenectady and Troy, Whitney Young Health Center in Albany.
Students also work with physicians in the surrounding counties and beyond for required and elective experiences such as the Hudson Headwaters Health Network which provides care in the Adirondack/Lake George/Glens Falls communities in upstate New York.
