Founded in 1843 and renamed the Temerty Faculty of Medicine in September 2020, the University of Toronto’s medical school stands as one of the world’s leading academic medicine institutions. Two Campuses, Four Academies, Countless Training Opportunities

The MD Program operates across two distinct campus communities: the historic St. George campus in downtown Toronto and the modern Mississauga campus. New students are assigned to either campus for the full four years of medical school. St. George students are further placed into one of three academies: FitzGerald, Peters-Boyd, or Wightman-Berris. Mississauga students are automatically placed with the Mississauga Academy of Medicine.

• FitzGerald Academy: anchored by St. Michael’s Hospital, with St. Joseph’s Health Centre, The Hospital for Sick Children, and community agencies.
• Mississauga Academy of Medicine: connected to Trillium Health Partners, Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital, Queensway Health Centre, and UTM.
• Peters-Boyd Academy: includes Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Women’s College Hospital, and North York General Hospital.
• Wightman-Berris Academy: includes University Health Network, Sinai Health System, Michael Garron Hospital, and other Toronto-area clinical sites.
