The Graduate Medical Education Department at Richmond University Medical Center works to ensure that all of its GME programs meet or exceed the Institutional and Program Requirements of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
RUMC currently sponsors 5 Residency Programs and 1 Fellowship program accredited by the ACGME with over 145 residents enrolled.
In addition, Richmond University Medical Center sponsors a Podiatry Residency accredited by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME).
RUMC also serves as a participating site for residents from the General Surgery Residency at SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Program at Downstate Medical Center.
Fellows from the Cardiovascular Disease Program at the SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn Program at Downstate Medical Center, the Nephrology Program at New York Medical College Metropolitan Program and the Gastroenterology Program at the New York Methodist Hospital Program all spend time at Richmond University Medical Center during their fellowship training.
