Furnished Superb Southside Suite near Hyde Park with free parking

Welcome to Akwaaba Suite located in the Sassy Southside of Chicago! Our eclectic décor blends elements of mid-century modern, art deco, and contemporary African American art with personal touches; like albums from my husband's extensive collection and photos from our international travels that decorate the walls. Our comfortable space is ideal for the digital nomad or traveling healthcare professional looking for a home away from home.  We are mainly looking for mid-term rentals 1-6 months, but may consider a longer rental contract under special circumstances.  If you are interested in anything less than 30 days you can check us out on Airbnb.

This is a seperate garden level unit with the owners occupying the main level. Enjoy a tranquil bedroom, spa bath, gracious living/dining space, workout area, and stylish office! An air mattress is also available upon request. Please note this is a garden level suite with its own entrance, requiring 5 stairs to get to the unit.  Guests have the entire suite to themselves and monthly rent includes all utilities and a monthly cleaning.

Please note that there is not a full kitchen, but there is a well-equipped kitchenette stocked with a microwave, small refrigerator/ freezer, kuereg coffee maker, toaster, personal blender, and water filter pitcher.  Please note, there is NO STOVE or kitchen sink.  There is also access to the large fenced backyard, which would be shared with the owners. 

We are located on a quiet residential street with plenty of free street parking and also the possibility of securing a parking space in our garage. You will have easy access to several major highways (US-41, I-90, I-94, and I-55). You can also access bus routes 15 (to Hyde Park/ University of Chicago) J14 (to Museum Campus/South Loop). While we are close to public transportation and walking distance to some restaurants, two drugstores, and a small grocer, it is easier to navigate the area with a vehicle.

We are very close to several major hospitals and universities:

• 15 minute drive to University of Chicago Medical
• 4 minutes drive Jaskson Park Hospital
• 5 minutes drive from Southshore Hospital,
• 4 minute drive from Advocate Trinity Hospital
• 10 minute drive from LaRabida Children's Hospital
• 25 minute drive Advocate Medical Group, Oak Lawn, IL
